Righteous Blood, Ruthless Blades is a tabletop roleplaying game with a wuxia theme and a dark atmosphere. The players are profound martial artists who can have occupations such as Assassin, Bandit, Beggar, Monk, Young Master, Scholar, etc. Assess enemies by scanning their Killing Aura, which you will want to do to avoid fighting the wrong person. If you lose a fight, you might experience a quick death, but you could also be maimed, and be forced to live with a crushed throat, horrible scarring, or internal organ injuries.
Will your character become one of the legendary Top Ten Fighters? Will you acquire one of the coveted Top Ten Weapons such as the Death Rain Effigy or the Spear of the Celestial Physician? As you become a powerful martial artist, you will need to successfully meditate to reach higher levels. Fail, and you will experience Fire Deviation, and possibly be afflicted with strange eccentricities, everything from acquiring a taste for human blood to having your hair turn another color. You might tangle with the malicious Screaming Zither Sect or become allies with heroes such as the Drunken Constable or the Ruthless Immortal. Perhaps you will ultimately found your own sect and rule the entire Jianghu.
Righteous Blood, Ruthless Blades is dark wuxia at its finest, with a focus on eccentric characters, deadly mysteries, and ruthless combat.
In the Righteous Blood Podcast, Brendan Davis and I talk about aspects of the game and the movies that inspired it. Each episode is roughly an hour long.
