In a dystopian China of the distant future, a homicide detective is dragged into the secret war between the "immortal cultivators" and the Black Corpse commandos that hunt them on behalf of the sinister corporate government. 

Wang Fan's world has changed dramatically since the events of The Sun's Blood. Now, demon spawns gather, plots within plots boil over, and the Black Corpses are hunting any who oppose Sinotech. Having no other option, Wang must brave the unknown to gather the storm of souls.
